The future of the web…

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Ok, so I was enjoying my lunch, perusing the BBC News Tech pages, and I come across MESH. wtf?

I turns out to be Microsoft’s latest plan to conquer the web. Its a piece of software that allows you to store 5GBs worth of data on their servers and sync all your web enabled devices such as phones, PDAs, laptops and PCs. The client will also be cross platform(:-O).

Is this really necessary? Isn’t this already possible? Does anyone even care?

I’m not sure about the pricing structure (i.e will it be free?) but I’m staying well away. There’s not a chance I will put 5GBs of my data on Microsoft’s servers. There’s just no need.

I would love to hear all of your opinions on this.
