Graduation

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I got my results this week, it is official; I passed my degree! I’m so happy that all the hard work (lol) was worth it.

Now need to get my robes sorted, probably should have done this a long time ago!

See you all soon!

The End of an Era

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Today was the day of my Final Exam. It went pretty well I guess, and now I have completed my Degree. What a strange thought. I have no more academic work. Ever.

Today’s plan then is to enjoy my life and play computer games, and attempt to get some interviews.

Another Day, Another Exam

Friday, May 16th, 2008

The morning has rolled around, and so with it another Exam. Today’s Exam is Ubiquitous Computing. Should be fun. Haven’t got much else to say, so I better go get some breakfast and do some revision.

What A Week!

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Sorry again about the drop in frequency of my Posts; Revision is well and truly underway! This week has been a blur of Family Guy, early mornings, Formal Methods and Criminal Law! What a Week!

It is 13 days until I leave Aber, so I am just trying to work really hard for these exams, and trying to avoid playing the xBox, which I have done remarkably well so far. I’m not sure if this is a comment on GTAIV, or just because I am trying to be sensible, but I haven’t as of yet found any features in GTA that have made me become addicted to it. Yeah its good, but it was always gonna be; Rockstar haven’t released a bad game. Ever. So that really isn’t a benchmark. It should be the best game they have ever made, and maybe the best game ever, but I haven’t found that yet.

Oh well, the only thing to do is to keep playing it and find out if it grows. I guess I didn’t instantly love FFVII (my current favorite game) the first time I ever played it, so I’m sure it will grow.

Keep reading for more of my random musings.
Cheers!

At a loss

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

That’s it. I’ve handed in my final Uni assignment. Ever. Elation doesn’t quite cover it; yet I cannot find anything to do. When I had assignments due in, anything seemed like a more useful alternative. Now however, nothing seems quite right.

Also, I can’t help but feel slightly sad. That’s really it. All I have left of my degree is my exams.

On with the revision!

Free Meal

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Tonight, I did get a free meal. We went to the official opening of the Tamed-bach seating and conservatory area. And very tasty it was too!

The only reason they invited third years was to push the hard-sell about Graduation on us - they want us to book meals with them, but it may have worked because I am considering going there for lunch on my graduation day.

Time to crack on with my final assignment - not much more to do now!

The final hurdle

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Well, its nearly over. The last assignment is almost finished. I can’t believe it! The only thing left before my exams now is the Demonstration of my Dissertation. That’s on Wednesday, so after that its down to hardcore revision!

Not much else to report really; I’ve just been doing this bloody assignment.

Why do I have to do a business plan? Isn’t that why there’s a Business Degree?

The Week of Reckoning

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

This is the week where I will be tested like never before.

GTA IV is released, and you can get it with an Xbox 360 for £200. Thats a bloody good deal. Even more interesting, the game has been leaked on the internet. o.m.g.

I need to see if I can live on NO money for a month and get a 360, or wait until I get a job before I get it! Damn you Rockstar! Why do this to me literally weeks before I graduate! There are so many things I should be thinking about instead of massaging £200 out of my finances!

Are you ready to Step Up?

Friday, April 25th, 2008

No. Not at all.

That was my reaction to Step Up 2 The Streets. I had to watch it at work, whilst trying to contain a group of hormone-charged teenagers.

Now that’s what I call a Friday Night!

On a more positive note, I co-created a piece of C code to efficiently read a RFID tag today. Much fun was had.

On balance, it was a good day. Anyway, time to play on the Wii.

Calm before the storm

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

I’m currently sitting in a carpark on Llanbadarn campus, still marveling at the miracle of WiFi (when it works!), thinking that moments like these will become increasingly few and far between as the next few months pan out.

To start with, I’ve got two assignments due in before the end of the month (one at 1pm today!). This is pretty heavy in itself, but also I’ve got four exams(!!) for which I really need to revise!

Also, my degree ends very soon, and I need to get myself a job (whether relevant or not) and then I will be working.

Just basically getting nostalgic about my degree, and apprehensive for the future. These are strange times, but I’ve just got to relish times like this; sitting in a car blogging it up. Thanks for reading.
